Cookie Policy

Last updated: 17 July 2025 · Applies to: rait.ie

Plain-English Summary

This website uses only the cookies it absolutely needs to function. We do not track you, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers or any third parties. If you have questions, email us at [email protected].

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information about your visit - for example, your preferred language or whether you have already acknowledged a notice.

This policy also covers similar technologies, such as localStorage and sessionStorage - browser-based storage mechanisms that work like cookies but remain entirely on your device and are never transmitted to our servers automatically.

2. Cookies and Local Storage We Use

We use only strictly necessary cookies and local storage. These cannot be switched off, as the site would not function correctly without them. They do not collect any personal data that could be used to identify or track you across websites.

NameTypePurposeExpires
rait_cookie_consentlocalStorageStores whether you have acknowledged this cookie notice, so we do not show it again on repeat visits.Until you clear browser data
rait_themelocalStorageStores your colour-scheme preference (light / dark) if you change it via the site toggle.Until you clear browser data

We do not use session cookies beyond what your browser creates automatically as part of normal HTTP operation (e.g. keeping a form submission in memory). These are automatically deleted when you close your browser tab.

3. No Tracking or Profiling

We do not use any of the following:

  • Analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar)
  • Advertising or retargeting cookies
  • Behavioural profiling or fingerprinting
  • Cross-site tracking of any kind
  • Social-media tracking pixels

If we introduce privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics in the future (such as Plausible Analytics), this policy will be updated before any change takes effect and a revised notice will be displayed.

4. Third-Party Cookies

We do not load any third-party scripts, iframes, or widgets that set cookies on our behalf. This includes social-share buttons, embedded maps, and ad networks.

The only external requests this site makes are to load fonts and assets from our own CDN. These requests do not result in any third-party cookies being placed on your device.

6. Managing and Deleting Cookies

You can review and delete cookies and local storage at any time using your browser settings. Instructions for common browsers:

Google Chrome

Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data

Mozilla Firefox

Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Clear Data

Safari (macOS)

Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data

Microsoft Edge

Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data

Deleting local storage will cause the cookie notice to reappear on your next visit, and any saved theme preference will be reset. No other functionality will be affected.

You can also use your browser’s built-in developer tools (F12 > Application > Local Storage) to view and delete individual entries at any time.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we introduce any non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy first and display a new consent notice before setting any such cookies.
